For centuries, virgin coconut oil has been used to for the body and in the kitchen. Obtained with cold processing methods, natural Nui Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is not refined, bleached or deodorised during production. It is pure, nutritious and ideal for multiple purposes: cooking, baking, frying, or eaten on its own.
Free of carcinogenic trans-fat Trans-fats (also called trans-fatty acids) are the harmful, artery-clogging fats found in margarines, shortenings, biscuits and many other common, processed, refined foods. Since January 1, 2006, all food companies in the USA are required to list trans-fat on their products’ nutritional tables for consumer protection. There is an important distinction between trans-fat and other fats. Consumers need to know the difference.
Trans-fat is the result of a chemical process known as “hydrogenation”, which converts liquid vegetable oil to a more solid product that lasts longer on store shelves and provides a good crispness to pastries. It is very economical for mass producers, but comes at the expense of health. If you see the term hydrogenation or "hydrolized" on a food label and are interested in good health, put the product back on the shelf. Not all products are labelled with their trans-fat ingredients, including certain bakery items.
Saturated fats have highly stable chemical structures, and are less likely to go rancid when stored, or when heated at high temperatures. Nui coconut oil has many other nutritional benefits as well:
Saturated fats raise levels of HDL (the ‘good’ cholesterol)
Saturated fats conserve the elongated omega 3 fatty acids
