Increasingly, living cells absorb and accumulate a toxic brew of synthetic chemicals, pollution, food additives, preservatives, heavy metals, personal care products, pesticides and drugs. The immune system is not an impenetrable force field. Degenerative, lifestyle-acquired disease thrives in acidic, toxic bodies, young and old.
Foot patch origins have been documented in a long traditional history of use in Korea that dates back some 500 years. Simple, external and non-invasive, foot patches are based on established Eastern principles which teach that toxins move away from the heart and towards the extremities of the body - including the soles of feet and palms of the hands, where they accumulate.
Heo Jun 1546 - 1615 AD
A gifted physician, Heo Jun wrote the 25 volume Dongeui Bogam - often cited as the text that defined Korean traditional medicine. This extensive work, and the information it provides, is still widely used today. Not only was Dongeui Bogam a comprehensive, insightful work, it was also accessible to the average reader. Many of the principles established in this work by Heo Jun have a place in modern and traditional Korean medicine some 500 years later.
Koreans believe that the feet are regarded as the body’s "second heart" and a mirror of internal health. Simply place from one to six patches on the body at bedtime (click here for full instructions). Koreans use fresh white patches which may change marginally in colour and wetness, or become soggy, dark brown and foul smelling after 8-10 hours of overnight use, depending on the individual. With use of fresh patches on consecutive nights, patches at some point tend to dry off and not change to the same extent. If you follow ancient reflexology and acupuncture information, the soles of the feet have 62 reflexology/acupuncture points, each corresponding to a different part of the body (click here to see a foot reflexology chart). Chi foot patches can be adhered to unbroken skin on the soles of the feet, or on other acupuncture or body points/joints. Some people even wrap patches around their fingers or place over spider bites.
Negative ions, positive benefits
Chi foot patches contain all-natural powdered ingredients, including high levels of tourmaline. This is a semi-precious gemstone. One of tourmaline's natural properties is its ability to emit beneficial negative ions, similar to jade.
What are positive ions? Positive ions are harmful, unstable molecules, if in excess of natural proportions. Though commonly found as electrical impulses in air and Nature, they are generated in unnaturally high numbers by electrical devices and other man-made sources. Indoor air environments and cities often contain unbalanced, high counts of positive ions. Once these molecules enter the body, they can contribute to oxidative and free radical damage which accelerates the body's aging process. Abundant positive ions can reduce energy, induce fatigue and contribute to Sick Office Syndrome.
